After the lackluster performance of the BH chassis, Protege owners were readyfor something new and exciting for their favorite platform. In late 1998 Mazda came through for Protege fans everywhere with the new aggressively and modern designed BJ chassis Protege. The cars originally came with the option of a 1.8L or 2.0L engine, but in 2001 all Proteges came with the 2.0L inline FS series engine. In 2001 the platform also received a few cosmetic changes with a bit more aggressive styled front bumper and one-piece headlights.

With models running the range from Sedan, to Wagon, 2WD to 4WD (in Japan), and NA to Turbo, the BJ chassis Protege is a force to be reckoned with and offers something for everyone. We produce and supply a large variety of parts for this amazing Mazda powerhouse.
