In mid 2003 Mazda released the next generation of their rotary powered sports car, the RX-8. This was a significant departure from their previous model, the RX-7, in many ways. This time opting for a strictly non-turbo engine and an 4-door design. When news of the new car was first released many were skeptical about the news of a 4-door rotary powered sports car, but when the design was revealed to be a standard front door with a smaller reverse-opening rear door their fears were assuaged.

While some were worried about the performance of this car, you would never know it. Sales of the RX-8 were very strong worldwide, with many of the top racing teams and tuning shops embracing the new rotary powerhouse. While not a direct replacement for the RX-7, the RX-8 is definitely a successor to the Mazda rotary throne.

When the RX-8 was announced we knew we had to get our hands on one immediately. CorkSport managed to get hold of one of the first RX-8s to land in the US and we have been actively developing parts for it ever since. Having been rotary owners time and time again, we are diehard fans of Mazda's commitment to rotary performance and we show that by creating the best performing parts at the highest level of value.
