Installation Instruction for Mazda 3 Axle Back Exhaust

Great product! Shipping was on time and I ended getting it installed by a professional. What I like about the CorkSport is that it's not obnoxious sounding compared to others. It makes my Mazda3 SGT sound like more of a performance car rather than a whimpy sounding car.
From the moment I bought my 2017 hatch new, I was insistent that it get an exhaust. The car was far too quiet. This setup allows for a subtle transition from low rpms to revving it up. Cold start can be a little rough at times, but it sounds amazing under load. No Honda raspiness, just a solid deep tone, which is a feat of engineering when it is on the tail end of a 2 liter. Visually it looks great and is easy to clean.
Love the sound. Installed 2017.
Clears the Curt hitch receiver with plenty of room.
Love that I can hear the engine at idle, amazing low tone that doesn't draw attention 2 blocks away like it's a Honda.
Does make the cold start quite a bit louder.
The exhaust has a pretty decent resonant section around 1k-2k RPM that's a little annoying (esp. on cold start). It's not very loud from the outside which is nice but the interior volume at the resonance would lead you to think it's pretty loud. Good build quality from a visual perspective but I'm not sure I would buy again.
I don't ever write reviews about products I buy but had to for this product. I'm Really pleased with the craftsmanship, customer service, and overall quality of the exhaust. The videos that people post on youtube don't do it any justice. I was kind of "iffy" about it when I watched those videos but they don't capture the deep and refined sound that surprised me when I first started the car. It doesn't sound like a can of bees by the way. If you're interested in this exhaust, I highly recommend it!
Sound wise, the axleback sounds way better than stock, specially at lower rpm, although at times it doesnt sound like it's even there. The real surprise for me is at the acceleration. I've read better that the axleback exhaust doesnt have any hp gain, but after installing mine I really notice a more linear/smoother acceleration. Where as before if tends to dip when I floor it before accelerating aggressively and then dipping again.
Overall very please with the performance. I might add an aftermarket midpipe in the near future.
The exhaust shipped quick, and it sounds great. However, mine showed up with 3 scratches/chips on the left tip. the first day I had the exhaust on my car the exhaust tip had 3 noticable rust spots from the scratches/chips. Even if this is covered by warranty, I live in Canada so I will have to pay $320 in shipping and customs fees for a replacement exhaust. I thought everybody should know before they purchase.
Agree with all other posts about nice sound, great looks, etc. I have mine paired with the SRI and cold air box, 2016 Mazda 3 sGT. It's louder for sure at low revs and upon cold startup, but not too bad. It's actually quieter than stock at idle. The deep tone is awesome and it looks really sharp. I have the factory appearance package installed, and there was no trouble at all fitting this around the rear diffuser - clean install. One tip though is that the OEM muffler assembly really requires a deep 14 mm socket - standard won't cut it for the removal stage. I added deep 17 mm and 14 mm sockets to my tool box for this install and would highly recommend it. Total leisurely install time from starting to get tools out to finished cleaning up, including the trip to get the deep sockets = 3 hrs. No sweat.
Just got this exhaust on. It sounds pretty good. It DOES drone at about 1500 rpm with little to no throttle (slowing down for stops), Sounds like a sub-woofer. However that's a pretty normal side effect when going for as deep of a tone as this exhaust has. It's not quite as loud as I thought it'd be. Just slightly louder than stock, but great for a daily driver. Overall pleased. Just wished someone had mentioned the small amount of droning in a review.
I ordered an axle back exhaust for my Mazda3 2015 SP25GT sedan. It arrived promptly to Perth, Western Australia, very well packed and in perfect condition.

I was very pleased with what was obviously a well made product. It fitted perfectly, looks good and sounds just as good as I hoped it would be. I can only add that it was a pleasure to do business with Corksport and I will be recommending Corksport to everyone I know. Thanks again. Robert

I'm a little confused as to what happens to the catalytic converter. In the "cat. back" application, the factory exhaust is decoupled at the down pipe, which appears to be ahead of the converter. Does the mid pipe resonator also function as a converter? Please set me straight.

The sound on the 2.5L video sounds great. Is the output 77dB closed and 55dB idle? I have a 2.0L 2015 Mazda 3 hatchback with a resonator delete and was wondering if it would still keep that deep tone except a little bit louder. Do you know how it would sound like on a 2.0L with a resonator delete?
